La Aurora Cigars – established in 1903 – a distinguished name in the cigar world, is celebrating its 120th anniversary this October with the launch of a special new cigar. The La Aurora 120 Aniversario blend is a testament to the knowledge, passion, creativity that La Aurora is recognized for. Unveiled at the Procigar Festival, this cigar will be available in the U.S. market within the next few weeks.
The La Aurora 120 Aniversario blend boasts a combination of Dominican tobaccos, including a beautiful Dominican Havana 92 wrapper, an Olor del Valle del Cibao binder, and a combination of filler tobaccos including Corojo, Olor del Valle del Cibao, and Piloto Cubano del Valle del Cibao. The meticulously selected wrapper is said to contribute aromatic attributes and an even burn to the overall smoking experience. “As we commemorate our 120th anniversary, we are proud to mark a milestone that will serve as a reference point for many years to come. Our commitment has always been to create cigars that embody the rich and distinct flavours of the cigar world,” says Guillermo León, president of La Aurora. “The La Aurora 120 blend we have chosen to create is a product of teamwork to a degree we had never accomplished before,” he adds.
Offered in four formats – Robusto, Toro, Gran Toro, and Churchill – the La Aurora 120 Aniversario promises a memorable smoke. With an initial draw marked by cedar aromas from the cigar’s aging process, the flavor profile then is shared as evolved to encompass smoky hints of cinnamon, pepper, and anise. According to La Aurora, sweeter notes of cocoa and coffee emerge, transitioning to soft vanilla flavors that create a harmonious balance. The finish is purported to be enriched with sweet nutty flavors, complemented by subtle undertones of wild honey and earthy nuances. If everything remains on schedule, we’ll all be able to experience the blend ourselves before the end of Spring.
