True to his word, releases teased by Kyle Gellis for 2023 are already making their way to market. Last August, when we shared the list, the only information that had been revealed about the distribution company’s house blend was that it featured a San Andrés wrapper and used fillers from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. Less than 6 months later, the Venture 1492 Gran Corona is on its way to authorized retailers across the country – including Privada Cigar Club.
Measuring 5.5 x 48, the final blend info also lists the Dominican Republic as the country of origin for the binder tobacco. Made in the Dominican Republic at Tabacalera La Isla – located within Santiago’s economic free zone- this Gran Corona is launching in 25 count boxes at a suggested retail price of $10 per cigar. The Chogüí Dos77 Corojo, recently reviewed and rated here, is distributed by Venture 1492.
Simultaneously, members of Drop Cigar Club – another Gellis venture – were provided with a February release date for this year’s The Absurd®. Rolled in Miami’s Little Havana at the legendary El Titan de Bronze, this is an annual project for enthusiasts. In a recent live session on Instagram, Cigar Public expressed how compelling it is to hear a brand owner talk about projects that are a year out. In response, a knowing grin and a simple statement said it all – Kyle let viewers know that he has projects 5 years and more in the making, many that fans and newcomers alike will be able to enjoy in due time. That is what cigar heads love to hear! Not part of Drop yet? Change that here.
