Fresh off of a recent trip to the Dominican Republic – chronicled in the In Search of Jopito travel vlog – and the launch of the first cigar in the Wraith Series, cigar heads were treated to some new teasers from Privada Cigar Club this week. Next month’s Limited Cigar Association LCA+ offering has been revealed as the Cocao Di Padre. The only information we’ve been provided about this cigar right now is that a family of distinguished European chocolatiers once commissioned a cigar blended special for those in their close culinary circle. Looking forward to bringing you more info on this one soon! No stranger to cigar projects with cinematic DNA, and inspired by the new Creed 3 trailer, Privada’s Brian Desind will also be creating an extremely limited run of boxed cigars honoring Michael B. Jordan’s first film in the Director’s chair. More on both of these cigars soon!

When we last reported on Hiram & Solomon, they’d just moved production to PDR Cigars, secured German distribution, and teased a forthcoming cigar named The Perfect Ashlar. This week, they’ve announced their new exclusive US distribution partner. Pennsylvania-based cigars and accessories wholesaler SZ Wholesale will now be the point of contact for all US retailers looking to carry Hiram & Solomon Cigars moving forward. In a press release sent out this week by founders Fouad & Romy Kashouty, the cigar brand shared that “we are excited to partner with SZ Wholesale and further our mission of bringing everyone together in the harmony of an excellent cigar.”  Sahil Ambani, SZ Wholesale’s President, said that “we will strive to leverage our distribution channels to provide outstanding service to Hiram & Solomon’s existing and future customers.”

The Sisters Of The Leaf Global Movement has just named the members of their SOTL Extraversion Committee. Congratulations to Karen Berger, Silvia Zanovello, Octavia Toliver, Ivana Morska, and Jessica Giordano! This is one of 6 committees that the SGM has formed. According to the group the group, committees are responsible for giving direction on issues regarding women’ status in the cigar world. The Extraversion Committee is tasked with communicating the groups mission, goals, progress and impact to the wider world outside the organization. The other committees include the SOTL & BOTL Collaboration Committee as well as the SOTL Sensory, Social, Culture, and Scientific Committees. The SGM is already making a big difference in what has been a very short amount of time and is expected to continue gaining momentum. Find out more about the movement here.

Procigar, the Association of Dominican Cigar Manufacters, has just revealed the 11 cigars that will be included in the Procigar Night 2022. On top of the 11 cigars that General Admission ticket holders will receive in their gift bag in addition the 11 cigar box set, VIP ticket holders receive yet another 11 cigars for a total of 33. While the cost of VIP entry may appear too substantial at first, the 30,000 figure is in Dominican Pesos – about $562 USD. “A mysterious new stranger has ridden into the town of Deadwood, South Dakota, to unite with the four other bewitching and infamous ladies who inspire Drew Estate’s Deadwood Tobacco Company cigar line,” says Drew Estate’s Jonathan Drew. The Girl With No Name is the latest addition to the popular line originally commissioned by Deadwood Tobacco Co. “While not much is known about any of the wild, rebellious and voluptuous Deadwood girls, even less is known about ‘The Girl With No Name,” says Vaughn Boyd, Deadwood’s founder. This new Maduro wrapped, aromatic cigar will be available from select retailers in a 6 x 52 Toro format.
