La Flor Dominicana’s Solis Expected To Appear On Shelves Before 2023

While the Solis by La Flor Dominicana made its debut at this year’s Premium Cigar Association trade show in Las Vegas, the details of LFD’s  The Golden NFT project had been announced just weeks prior to the start of the show. As a result of the timing, and of the interest surrounding the concept, the NFT project ended up garnering much of the attention. With the auctions now completed and the winners announced, Solis can have a genuine opportunity to shine.

Shine it will, as Solis gets its name from the latin “Sol” – equivalent to sun or light. This is in distinct contrast to LFD’s La Nox, which was launched in 2015 and celebrates the night. Motivated by his older brother Tony’s journey making and releasing La Nox, the Solis blend was developed by Litto Gomez Jr. with his family during any breaks he had from school. “I was inspired by my big brother’s project La Nox and I wanted to create something that contrasted it. We have pretty different personalities and I thought that the sun and moon were a perfect metaphor to describe us,” Litto Jr. shares. Tony contributed the art direction for the band and box and their Dad helped Litto Jr. craft his first blend.

This 6.5 x 50 expression is expected to cost consumers just over $13 and features a Sun Grown Habano wrapper, Sumatra binder from Ecuador, and Dominican tobaccos from the La Flor Dominicana farm located in La Canela. While there has been no cap announced on how many will be produced, the scarcity of some of the tobaccos used in the blend dictate that production be limited to existing resources. Keep an eye out for more news from La Flor Dominicana, some retailers have already started listing the Solis on their site and marking it “out of stock” in anticipation of the cigar’s scheduled arrival.
