Review: Privada Kickoff Red

Stallone Alagan Review: The Experience

This cigar gained points for the overall construction and open draw. It was on the softer side of a firm pack. It had instances where it started to burn down one side, but a quick touch up prevented any issues and then it started stacking dimes. I don’t think I have had a cigar like this before. Virtually no sweetness in it at all! That’s not a bad thing, just surprising. I did see crinkles in the construction, but that wasn’t a deal breaker.

This cigar had a soft hand feel; solid, yet soft pack, and the wrapper was striped with darker lines. It seemed to be splotchy. The crinkles in the wrapper were on the cap and there were tears in the wrapper seem as well. It seemed rushed in production. Those weren’t real issues through, those are just observations. What really got me was the lack of any sweetness in the cigar and the powdery feel it left on my palette. It dried my tongue for sure. I do appreciate the flavor notes because they were a new group that seemed very different. The smoke was billowing, but light and wispy. It did have a great burn line after the first third and the flavor notes danced with each other. Not like professional dancers though, more like at a high-school prom; Formal, but inexperienced. I would say that this cigar is worth a try. It will let you experience something new.
