Sinistro Year of The Cowboy Natural

Very good stick!

Working with storied factories like Artista and La Aurora, the Sinistro Cigars brand has amassed a large and growing following almost exclusively through word of mouth. Founded by James Agopian and Coleman Fine, Sinistro strives to put out cigars that people not only talk about but repeatedly stock their humidors with. Always looking to play with what our expectations of a cigar can be, Agopian is constantly blending new and different combinations of some of the best tobaccos available today.

The body of this cigar grabbed me with notes of gum, Worcestershire sauce, yellow spicy mustard, and grassy hay.

The foot of the cigar had notes of dried fruit, oregano spices, and a hint of bandaid.

Dirt, Dried fruit, little vanilla and spice

Upon lighting it, I was immediately impressed by its delicious flavor profile. The smoke was smooth and creamy, with sweet woody and caramel notes and a light spice on the retro. The grassy notes continued throughout the first third of the cigar, and the burn remained on-point.

As we rounded into the second third of the cigar, I picked up on a nice vanilla aroma and taste, with a muted amount of smoke volume and lighter spice on the retro. The woody and cedar notes became more pronounced and added to the overall complexity of the cigar.

Unfortunately, I had to perform one light touch-up on both sticks. I found that the cigar finished well with vanilla and cedar notes and a touch of nuttiness.

Will Linger

To me, cigars are about having a deep curiosity of the history of those who provide them to the world; full of complexity and beauty. Comparing notes on those stories is the point, preserved for who’ll come next. I simply can’t get enough of that. Otherwise, I’m a common man.
