La Aurora 1985 Maduro

Once again we find another cigar loaded with pepper, but instead of pepper on pepper this cigar surprises you with deep deep floral notes and and barrel tannins that have you wanting to pair it with a good high proof whiskey. As I started smoking this cigar I was worried that it would be the just another pepper bomb with not many surprises, but I was wrong. If you were looking for a cigar that matches pepper with charred oak whiskey barrels and notes of red wine that would go good with a high proof bourbon this may be the cigar for you.

Stallone Alagan Review: First Third

On the light up I get notes of black pepper tobacco oak and a lime zest. The retro is bold with black pepper Earth and lime zest. Into the 1st the smoke is beautiful, thick and full with the aroma of tobacco and flowers.. On the palate lots of soft white pepper, raisins, nuts and a lot of floral notes. The burn is perfect. Long finish, medium strength, and the retro is black pepper and flowers with a finish of black pepper.

Stallone Alagan Review: Second Third

Into the 2nd. Lots black pepper on the tongue followed by a dry oak tannon and floral. The finish is long with black pepper coating the tongue and the lime zest in the background. The retro is the biggest change. Black pepper, red pepper, nuts and flowers. Burn is perfect and the ash is holding midway through the third.

Stallone Alagan Review: Final Third

Going into the final 3rd the floral note has left completely and taking its place is a lot of dry oak and black pepper. The retro is becoming soft and turned into a powdery white pepper.. Into the final 3rd I get lots of oak barrel tannins and a dry red wine note leaving the mouth dry and looking for water.. The finish fish is long with lots of black and white pepper coating the mouth and tongue. The smoke is thick and full strength has gone from a medium to full .
