On the light you get strong black pepper, burnt toast, and nuts. The retro bring a lot of red and black pepper that punches you right in the nose and steps back and smiles at you.
Into this first portion you get a thick chewy smoke with notes of black pepper, minerals, and hint of earth. The finish is long with notes of black pepper and a cinnamon tingle on the tongue. By the end of the third the burn was a little wave and needed a minor touch up. Flavors are full body with lots of strength.Â
In the 2nd third its full body and still a long finish with lots of smoke. Black pepper, earth, salt and now a slight sweetness that was very welcome. The retro has smoothed out a little to just a strong black pepper. Burn is decent and a flaky ash.
At the end of the final third not much has changed. All pepper on the retro. Still salt, pepper, and a mineral note. The sweet has now faded and the finish is still the same. Full strength.
