Todays first industry update includes another CIGAR PUBLIC EXCLUSIVE. First, the Espinosa Cigars team just wrapped up another successful appearance at the Rocky Mountain Cigar Festival over the weekend. The “Pool Noodles” Lanceros were an especially cool idea that paired perfectly with the pool party they sponsored for attendees. Never one to rest on past victories, Espinosa is always thinking long-term and treats every project like the most important one yet. It is with this philosophy and worth ethic in mind that I’m happy to share with you a small window into project currently in the works – Espinosa Blending Workshop’s Anatomy Of A Bat! While particulars will be made available as we get closer to the project’s release, Cigar Public has been provided with the box art. What’s in it? How many will there be? As soon as I know, you will too!
Exciting news from Principle Cigars kicks off today’s list! Principle’s Archive Collection’s 1842 will be released this week, and the project sounds really interesting. The 1842 is very limited, with only 500 numbered boxes in existence. Each and every one of those 500 boxes is made even more special by way of the original New York and Harlem Railroad certificate, printed and issued in 1842, that is contained within. Also dropping this week is a cigar made exclusively for Pennsylvania’s Caravan Cigar Company. The cigar was released this morning and is available right now. The wrapper is Nicaraguan-grown Sumatra seed, the binder is Nicaraguan Corojo, and the fillers are from Esteli. These cigars were blended and produced at The Annex, a factory collaboration between AJ Fernandez Cigars and Privada Cigar Club. Head over to Caravan’ss IG page for more info:
The Tampa Bay Times has another great article out today on J.C. Newman Cigar Co. This one is about the respected family’s recent acquisition of a Cuesta-Rey Cigar Company Ponce Del Leon Salesman Sampler kit. What’s so special about the sampler that it would inspire news coverage. one may wonder? This particular sampler setup dates back to 1906, AND the 116-year-old cigars contained with in are in pristine condition. Warped Cigars made a blog post on Saturday announcing the launched of a hyper-limited run of a 4 x 50 Petit Robusto El Oso. Only 160 bundles will be made available, each containing 10 cigars. The full list of nine total retailers is available on their blog post. Warped recommends calling the shops on the list as soon as possible to place your order. The wrapper is Ecuadorian Habano Oscuro, the Binder is Ecuadorian, and the Fillers are Nicaraguan and Dominican.
