Review: Proscrito Cigars Strangers in Black

Stallone Alagan Review: The Experience

First off, and I can’t overstate this, these cigars were butt ugly. If I didn’t know any better, I would have thought they were rolled without a wrapper leaf.  Don’t get me wrong, I can dig a rustic looking stick, but this was on another level entirely!  The draw, burn, and smoke output were all decent enough, but the texture and flavor, particularly the first sample were VERY problematic.  The first sample had an overabundance of an outright soapy flavor that was entire off-putting.  It did calm down and balance out somewhat as I got past the first third, but bitterness of draw flavors and harshness in the texture made them rather a chore to get through.  I’m not really sure what the makers were going for with this blend, but I felt almost assaulted by the flavors most of the way.  Perhaps I got a bad batch, but what I experienced was far from enjoyable.

Rh: 65%. Smoke time: 65 minutes

Stallone Alagan Review: The Brand

With the motto “where subculture meets cigar culture,” Brett Wilson founded the Proscrito Cigars brand in 2019. Referencing pop culture when naming many of their projects, the brand offers unique and memorable blends that stand out in a crowded marketplace. While the factory where their cigars are made remains undisclosed, they utilize premium tobaccos from all over the world to create their full-flavored expressions.
