Privada Cigar Club: 1928 AKA “The Steamboat”

Stallone Alagan Review: The Experience

Esthetically the cigar had only one noticeable flaw and that was the clearly mottled color of the wrapper on one of the samples. Everything else looked decently well crafted. The oil sheen on the wrapper made it look positively wet! The draw had a touch of firmness, but a very good smoke output. The burn had some waves, but I never had to reach for the lighter a second time, and it hardly meant any deductions. The texture of the smoke was quite bold, oily and full, with nicotine that I could feel relatively early. The flavors, while numerous and rather potent, were nicely balanced and very enjoyable, especially for a full flavor junkie like myself. Definitely not something to smoke on an empty stomach, but if you are like me and crave a bold texture and flavor experience you are in for a nice experience.

Pairing Recommendations:  Islay Scotch or a barrel proof bourbon would stand up well alongside this smoke. Cherry coke, Dr. Pepper and espresso would also pair well for those who want something non-alcoholic.

Smoke Time: 1 hour 25 minutes.
