Review: AJ Fernandez New World Gobernador

New World Gobernador Review

Stallone Alagan Review: The Experience

Very nice smoke that just lacked a little bit of complexity, point wise. Mostly pepper and toast notes with short periods of more complex notes.

This is a cigar that both pepper lovers and flavor fans can enjoy. There is a fair amount of spice to it but it is ever changing in it’s delivery note…fighting it’s way through sweet and savory notes, so it’s not always that same pepper heat. The one sample had some burn issues, which effected the flavor… But the second was fantastic, very well constructed with a long (time), even burn.

Vitola: Toro/ Size: 6 1/2″x55

Stallone Alagan Review: The Body

Fairly dense box press but slightly loose feel. Matte dark brown, well- hidden seams, very fine tooth grit.

Stallone Alagan Review: The Foot

Rich, earthy cocoa, light rye

Stallone Alagan Review: The Cold Draw

Fresh baked pumpernickel and rye breads.

Stallone Alagan Review: First Third

Takes over an inch of fighting through classic pepper bomb notes and thick, flaky stacks to reveal lightly sweet milk chocolate notes, followed by toasted breads. Somewhat short lived as it takes on a red pepper crostini profile into the next third.

Stallone Alagan Review: Second Third

Pepper heat turns to a honey cinnamon spice retro. With secondary notes of toasted, earthy breads finishing with a fairly mild hot sauce left on the palate.

Stallone Alagan Review: Final Third

Gets fairly complex in the final third! Beginning with an umami, like a mildly spiced Asian broth. Occasional sweet notes of honey and dinner roll. Followed by florals and amber. Eventually ending up with just a rich, classic, tobacco smoke.
