Details about a brand new blend from Stallone Cigars have been confirmed ahead of this summer’s Premium Cigar Association trade show in Las Vegas. Many of your favorite shops attend this every annually to make their cigar purchases for the next year. Attendees often get first pick and better margins as a perk of showing up in person. In just a few weeks, Stallone will be expanding their Cowboy Series with the new Mustang line.
Utilizing tobacco that is aged for a minimum of 5 years prior to being rolled, Stallone’s Cowboy Series currently consists of 6 distinct blends. Represented through more than 20 sizes, each cigar has named for the color of it’s wrapper. Like a pack of wild horses, each blend is meant to embody something special and unique, with the series promising to range from medium-plus in strength to full bodied and full flavored. Never a brand to treat traditions as rules, the Mustang is the first blend in the lineup to be named after the horse itself. Owner Tony Barrios – who we have profiled previously – honors his family’s legacy, and the horses that have been part of it, with every project that the company releases to the public.
Where the tradition does live in is where it ultimately matters most: the blend itself. The line is launching in two different sizes and wrappers, each similar in color to just a few of the many breathtaking coats that Mustangs are known for. Utilizing filler tobaccos grown in Jalapa, Estelí and Condega, both Mustangs feature dual binders from Brazil and Nicaragua. The 5.5 x 50 Short Toro showcases what is being referred to as a Natural Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper leaf. Also an Ecuadorian Sumatra leaf, the wrapper selected for the 4.5 x 50 Rothschild said to be a darker Oscuro. Crafted in Nicaragua at the Las Villas Cigars factory with budgets in mind, they will be available in bundles of 25 after the convention is over in July. Priced at just $5.45 and $5.99 depending on the size, these shorter formats are sure to draw in those who have yet to enjoy the Stallone experience.
The Stallone portfolio is available at Privada Cigar Club.
