Launched last year, the Telephone Booth Series from J. London cigars offers a different limited blend with every release. Beginning with the Blue Telephone Booth in December, the original goal was for a blend to be released every 4-6 weeks. Limited to just 600 packs of 5, the Green Telephone Booth is the 2nd installment of the special project the only uses tobaccos that have been aged for a minimum of 4 years. While both the factory and blender remain undisclosed, J.London founder Jonathan Fiant shares that the family processing the tobaccos has been doing so for 4 generations. In addition, the blender has been perfecting his craft for over 40 years.
In contrast to the Blue Telephone Booth’s 5 x 50 Robusto format, the Green is a 6 x 56 Toro Gordo. This blend features a San Andres wrapper leaf and An Olor Ligero binder. Both surround filler tobaccos grown in, and selected from, the Dominican Republic. If the response for this selection is anything like it was for the first, you may not want to wait until you’ve had it to get more because it will likely be too late at that point. Priced at a suggested $14.60 each, you can get your own 5-packs right now for about $73 depending on your state.
