One of the big takeaways from this year’s Total Product Expo was just how closely the most sought after brands listen to their communities right now. In response to the many requests to bring back their popular Santa Muerte cigar in some form, Black Label Trading Co. has officially made it part of their core lineup. First teased in a quick social post in January, the eye catching white box is noticeable departure from the dark packaging usually associated with the limited Santa Muerte offerings that have been made available over the years.
“This is a great addition to our core-line. It was last released in 2018 as a limited release and we have had many requests for its return. We revamped the artwork giving it a white background with added silver details in a white box. It’s a medium bodied cigar with a Ecuadorian Habano wrapper. It features six filler tobaccos which create a very unique and rich flavor profile. You experience layer upon layer of coffee, malt, spice and cocoa,” said James Brown, creator of Black Label Trading Co. and partner of the Fabrica Oveja Negra factory where the Santa Muerte is produced.
Made in Esteli, Nicaragua, this blend features the Ecuadorian Habano wrapper mentioned by Brown, an Ecuadorian Habano binder, and filler sourced from Nicaragua, the Dominican Repbublic, and Mexico (San Andrés). Launching in three formats, each will ship in 20 count boxes. The three debut sizes are Short Robusto (4.75 x 52), Corona Gorda (5.5 x 48), and Petite Lancero (6.5 x 42). The Petite Lancero has an MSRP of $10.50, while the two remaining vitolas will both sell for a suggested $11.00 each.
