In collaboration with Master Blender Manuel Inoa of La Aurora, a new project has been announced by Emperors Cut Cigars. The Red Tail Series will honor the first African-American military aviators to serve in the United States Armed Forces.
At launch, there will be two blends – Maduro and Natural. Each will have two 6 x 52 expressions, Toro and Torpedo. The MSRP is $130 for a 10 count box, for all of the blends and sizes included in this limited run. Starting in December, the Red Tail Series will be available exclusively on the Emperors Cut website. If any remain, there will be a general release in February of 2023.
Started in 2017, Emperors Cut has already established a nationwide presence through placement in shops, lounges, and Total Wine & More locations. Based out of Texas, the boutique Houston brand is veteran, woman and minority-owned. Greg Willis, Director of Product Development, shares that “we are inspired by the bravery and heroics of the Tuskegee Airmen. Like our Jazz Series, our goal is to produce cigars we believe are expressions of the American spirit.” Three of the group’s partners are veterans – two having served in the United States Air Force, and one a Marine. The Jazz Series has two blends so far, Dizzy and Miles, named for Dizzy Gillespie and Miles Davis.
