Cuba Aliados By E.P. Carrillo

This cigar has an unapologetic boldness and will grab your attention on light-up. The experience starts off unassuming with a dull, blotchy wrapper, visible seams and veins. There is an even medium to hard pack and a decent bunch visible at the foot. The draw was fine leaning toward slightly snug. The cigar never went out, but it did require a little effort/attention to ensure it stayed evenly lit; not a big issue, taking draws a little more regularly than usual did the trick.

Lighting the cigar there is a dry smoke that draws a bit of saliva from the palate. The blend develops a woodsy, peppery flavor profile anchored by strong black coffee notes. The savory spices combine nicely with the pepper, mellowing out the profile and playing a roll in the balance. Black coffee or something out of the Beam lines, to pull the nuttiness out, would pair nicely with this blend.

Bearded Moon

A couple of years ago I combined my passion for videography with cigars and jumped into posting reviews. In the process, I discovered a positive community and an intriguing industry rooted in a rich history. I also discovered that for relaxation, it's tough to beat a great cigar.
