Hirochi Robaina HR Blue

The wrapper of this cigar was a little soft, but did not yield much when gently squeezed. It has a beautiful closed foot, there was a large vein on one sample, and a loose seam on another, neither item causes issues directly. The draw on both samples was a little more loose than optimal, but no correction required. There were touch ups to both, but both samples worked their way through. I did note that this cigar didn’t seem to hold more than 3/4” of ash.

With all that, this was a fantastic cigar, which I thoroughly enjoyed both times. The flavors were all very pleasant and flowed well from one to another. I found this one difficult to put down in the end, and both times managed to pick up the nub a couple times and get a couple more puffs off of it. Pleasantly surprised to see this fall into a 91 despite any perceived issues on my part. An excellent smoke for afternoon or evening!

Hay and earth

Stallone Alagan Review: The Foot

Hay again, but with Chinese five spice

Stallone Alagan Review: The Cold Draw

Spiciness, again akin to Chinese five spice

Stallone Alagan Review: First Third

On the light, I received a healthy dose of black pepper and five spice. This is somewhat expected due to the closed foot, and subsided shortly, leaving flavors of cinnamon, espresso and charred meat with a black pepper retro.

Stallone Alagan Review: Second Third

As I smoke further, the pepper flavors, both palate and retro fade, the main flavors at this look t becoming that charred meat similar to a proper steak sear, along with leather. The retro turns to a buttery caramel with a lemon citrus note that flits in and out.

Stallone Alagan Review: Final Third

The final third continues to mellow out, the smoke becomes very creamy. Salt and leather are prominent, the combination along with the creaminess brings to mind salted butter, and the retro still has a light pepper.
