This year’s USA Spirits Ratings final results have been posted to their website, and La Aurora’s E. León Jimenes 110 Aniversario Rum has taken home top rum honors as 2022 Rum of The Year. Aged for 10 years in a process completely unique to La Aurora, they share that “E. León Jimenes 110 Aniversario is a rich and complex rum with exceptional flavor and a vibrant finish marked by sweet, spicy, and floral notes that bring out the best in premium cigars.” Originally released to commemorate the legendary cigar factory’s 110th anniversary, the multiple award winning rum is more evidence of founder Eduardo León Jimenes’ legacy being well maintained.
The aging process begins with eight years in virgin American White Oak barrels, understood to give the rum the majority of its flavor. After that, two years in virgin French Oak. Whether it be cigars, rum, or another craft product entirely, it is obvious that La Aurora’s first priority is excellence.
