Joya De Nicaragua Joya Black

This cigar could be smoked any time of day, but keep in mind that it had some decent strength behind it. It had a real nice spice that I’m always thrilled to find in a cigar. The draw was perfect, especially for being on the smaller side ring gauge wise. The only real complaint with this cigar was how much it severely dried out my palette. It's not a cigar I would seek out, but also one I'd smoke again.

Red Pepper Flakes

Red Pepper, Rich Tobacco

Salted Peanuts, Tobacco

The first third starts off with a nice blast of spicy red pepper. I’m getting a bit of sweetness as well, leaning towards a caramel note. The retrohale has that red pepper, but I wish it was a little more sharp. As the first third comes to a close, the salted peanut note from the cold draw makes an appearance.

A creaminess is added to the mix as the second third gets going. The salted peanut note is shifting more towards a salted pretzel note. The red pepper is still there on the retrohale and has been consistent since light up. Leather joins in as the final third approaches.

The final third ramps up with saltiness. The finish is very long, but has started to really dry out the palette. The red pepper is very present in the back of the throat and on the retrohale. The pretzel note steals the show as the final third comes to an end.
