Montecristo Nicaragua Robusto

The flavors are certainly there for this cigar to be placed higher, however, the construction issues demand it be docked accordingly. The draw was very tight and the burn uneven on both samples.

Barnyard, raw honey

Chocolate, raisin, cinnamon

Natural tobacco sweetness with a pleasant nut component

Milk chocolate and raisin come out strong with a nice red pepper on the retrohale. There is a faint cinnamon coming through on the finish, complements the chocolate sweetness quite nicely.

A very nice nutty sweetness has come front and center (think trail-mix) while the red pepper retrohale is now pleasantly wrapped in a cedar sleeve. The cinnamon finish is ever present and has taken a spicy effect, leaves me thinking of a red hot candy. As I write this I realize nothing about trail-mix, mixed with red hots sounds appealing but I assure you the spicy/sweet/nut flavors are complimenting each other quite nicely.

The early milk chocolate has morphed into a dark slightly bitter chocolate while the nuttiness has joined in with the cedar to finish out on the retrohale. The cinnamon sadly is gone and has been replaced with a quite bold earthiness to finish out.
