As with most pre conceived notions, this Connecticut shade cigar blew away the misconception from the start. first light retro hale had black pepper, cedar, and brown sugar right away. Strong sweet flavors that stayed consistent throughout the first 3rd. the retro hale burn in the nostrils went from a strong sense down to a medium burn at the end of the first 3rd.
The second 3rd was a great transition point in the cigar. The pepper and cedar lingered as unsalted mixed nuts and sweet tobacco started to become the dominant notes. The retro hale still a slight burn and the pepper was there.
the final 3rd started off with the unsalted mixed nuts and stayed true to the cedar and black pepper. It ended with these notes and stayed a medium to full cigar. This cigar had many transitions and had a really string start. Fantastic smoke to enjoy after a light breakfast or a great finisher to an evening of cigars and bourbon.
