Review: W.A. Series Field Scout by AJ Fernandez

Stallone Alagan Review: The Experience

Some of the best constructed cigars I have smoked in the past six months (maybe longer) which in of itself is worth trying two sticks but let us roll into the flavor profile. This cigar was full bodied but unexpected as I felt it should be lighter with the powder and creamy notes but then those throat and mouth spices rachet it up a level. I also noticed a coffee aroma floating in the air while I smoked the second sample which was the same sample that was a bit mouth drying. I would easily bet a few hundred bucks that when I find out who the blender was it will be a big boy name with tried and true construction techniques! For my personal taste buds this was an interesting flavor profile; I went back and forth on whether I truly enjoyed the cigar or enjoyed the uniqueness of the cigar – to me I needed a bit more fruit and chocolate notes and this would have hit 95-97. Even without the few things I was looking for anyone who follows my reviews will tell you I do not give out a 90+ on a whim!

Retrohale Notes: Tingle Pepper Bomb, Clean Baking Spices, Hints of Cream (1st Half) and Cedar, Clean Pepper & Baking Spices (2nd Half)

Average Smoke Time: 1 Hour 10 Minutes

Pairing Recommendations: Although it would be fair to say I would enjoy this with nearly any pairing do yourself a favor and smoke one or two with just water or sparkling water to truly taste and feel the uniqueness of this exquisite smoke!

Stallone Alagan Review: The Brand

Once just a wild dream, today, having AJ Fernandez at the helm of our production is our reality. If someone had proposed this five years ago, I would have found it hard to believe. Yet here we are, releasing the 7th cigar in a series crafted by AJ as a tribute to my favorite director, Wes Anderson. The 6th cigar for the LCA is ready, but we believe “The Field Scout,” inspired by the aesthetics of the movie Moonrise Kingdom, might be the crown jewel of the series. It serves as a testament to AJ’s unparalleled ability to create impeccable cigars.

I originally started smoking cigars around 2002 right after I turned 18; this was my attempt at “coolness”. What happened throughout the years though turned into true romance of the leaf. Cigars are passion, calmness and clarity mixed with the joy of collecting and community with a splash of nostalgia!
