PRESS RELEASE- (August 24, 2024)
Cigar Public contributor, John Cardenas, is currently on assignment at the Rocky Mountain Cigar Festival in Broomfield, Colorado. Just this morning he has confirmed a first for participating vendor, El Mago Cigars: a 6″x60 Maduro blend. The cigar, dubbed El Mago Disco, features all Nicaraguan long fillers, a Nicaraguan (Condega) Criollo binder, and an Ecuadorian-grown habano oscuro wrapper leaf.
According to EL Mago owner, Nick Fusco, “The reason for naming this blend Disco is because when my grandparents moved to Miami, going to a disco was very popular. The disco also became more iconic Miami integrating it into their nightlife culture. You can refer to that scene in Scarface where Al Pacino goes to the disco in Miami.”
Shimpent of the new blend is expected in early September.
Fusco began El Mago in 2022 to honor his grandparents, Maria and Gonzalo Torre, who tragically perished in the collapse of Champlain Towers South in Surfside, Florida back in 2021.
