Review: DK Duo Bleu

Stallone Alagan Review: The Experience

Short but sweet. Quite a complex journey for a short vitola! Very enjoyable. Took most of the score hits in the burn and draw section. But a flavorful quick smoke.

Stallone Alagan Review: The Brand

In the late 1990’s and early 2000’s, the Dominican Republic produced some of the finest and most expensive cigars in the world. Once sought after by collectors and counterfeited by criminals, these blends have become overshadowed in the past decade by cigars that focus on body and strength over nuance and balance. DK provides the opportunity to re-discover the legendary blends and rare tobaccos that once took over the industry. Experience the golden age of what made the Dominican Republic king of cigars.

Stallone Alagan Review: The Body

Solid roll with a few bumps and thick veins. Light floral and leaf notes.

Stallone Alagan Review: The Foot

Grassy, leafy greens, hints of cocoa and oats

Stallone Alagan Review: The Cold Draw

Fresh lawn clippings, hay and a touch of honey

Stallone Alagan Review: First Third

Only a mild retro spice from the start…A half inch in on a slightly wavy burn line and nice ash stacks, I pick up notes of baking spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, coriander, anise). They continue until the end of third where they warm to a spicy cola note with a hint of honey.

Stallone Alagan Review: Second Third

The spice soon mellows, allowing a sweeter cola note to move forward with the addition of a fresh ginger bite on the retro. Very pleasant… End of third it becomes more reminiscent to rich toffee/caramel/caramelized honey with cola and ginger moving to the background.

Stallone Alagan Review: Final Third
Burn gets a bit wavy again and needs a quick touch up. The cigar takes on a more woody (oak/cedar) and nutty (walnut) profile now…There are some green florals and ginger in the background. This continues to the nub where the notes go to more of a cafe roast.
