Cigar Obsession’s Return to YouTube & the Future of Cigar Content on the Platform

As many of you may have already heard, the OG YouTube cigar reviewer, Bryan Glynn, has made his long-awaited return to the platform. In his reintroduction video posted on March 3rd, Glynn made it clear that moving forward, he will focus his resuscitated channel, Cigar Obsession,  solely on cigar reviews. He also acknowledged YouTube’s strict user terms of service, which prevent him from posting promotional content, sponsorships, or anything that could be seen as advertising.

Glynn’s return marks an interesting moment for the YouTube cigar community. When he initially left the platform in 2022, he was adamant that all cigar-related content was imminently at risk of being removed. At the time, many took this as a warning sign, with some creators considering alternative platforms or shifting their content strategies as Glynn had done. Yet, despite his predictions, numerous cigar channels have not only remained active on YouTube but have also thrived.

Cigar Obsession Returns!

One such creator, Pick Jimi, recently posted his own video addressing Glynn’s return. While he agrees that YouTube’s policies on cigar content are restrictive, he also argues that there are still viable ways for cigar-related channels to succeed within the platform’s guidelines. More importantly, he emphasizes the value of YouTube’s massive audience, which offers cigar media an unparalleled opportunity to reach new viewers.

This brings us to a crucial question: Is it still worth investing in YouTube as a cigar content creator?

The debate has been reignited, and opinions remain divided. Some believe that the writing is on the wall—that YouTube will eventually make it impossible for cigar media to exist on the platform. Others, like Pick Jimi, see a future where creators can adapt and continue engaging with the broader audience that currently only YouTube provides.

So, what do you think? Does cigar media have a future on YouTube, or is it just a matter of time before it disappears entirely into the ether? Share your thoughts and join the conversation in the comments below!
