Score Justification: Points were lost to major inconsistencies between the two samples. Sample 1 looked visually immaculate, but had major tunneling issues in the first and second third. It did surprisingly recover enough to finish the cigar and was rather enjoyable in the final stage. Sample 2 had quite a bit of cracking in the wrapper, but mostly in the area that I would imagine the band being. Despite that, Sample 2 smoked flawlessly.
Final Thoughts: Maduro, Box-Pressed, Closed Foot, Smallish Ring Gauge ; all attributes of a cigar that I absolutely love. This cigar offered an array of enjoyable flavors and the sample that performed well construction wise really impressed me. Cigars after all, are a hand made product and I would never count out a brand or cigar based on one experience, but the issues with sample 1 are reflected in my score. This one definitely peaked my interest and I look forward to finding out what it is and acquiring more!
Pairing Recommendations: Dunkin Donuts Mocha Cold Brew, Sam Adam’s Cherry Wheat Ale, After Chocolate Ice Cream, Amaretto
