Review: From Chico by Chico Rivas

Stallone Alagan Review: The Experience

Both samples were very well rolled with reticulated veins. The burn was a bit wavy, but consistent. A snug draw, but produced ample smoke without having to fight for it. This cigar manufactured notes that constantly circulated for a welcomed repetitiveness. The first two-thirds were heavenly before coming back to earth for a more classic smoke in the end. I really enjoyed this cigar! It took small score hits for a wavy burn and snug draw, with one sample taking a few more points there for a slightly lower score as a nit pick.

Stallone Alagan Review: First Third

Mild retrohale right from the start. Barely 1/8″ warm cola notes emerge from tight dime stacks. Soon the cola spice is accompanied by an earthy, natural honeycomb sweetness that finishes with a slight prickle on the retro. Halfway through the third it takes on a more decadent note of a dry, chocolate biscuit. The honey sweetness remains with a light, woody, cinnamon spiced retro.

Stallone Alagan Review: Second Third

The cigar becomes more “bitey” going into the next third with a ginger zest fighting it’s way through. The honey notes take on a more caramelized profile with a light buttery texture materializing on the palate. Soon the cola spice is welcomed back and a blend of ginger, cola and rich chocolate somehow mingle wonderfully.

Stallone Alagan Review: Final Third
In the final third tannic, oaky notes bully their way to the forefront…Hiding in the oaky-ness is a sweet honey & black cherry glimpse. Gradually working it’s way to roasty cafe with cherry cola undertones. As the tannic notes increase the undertones are more of charred oak wine barrel.
