A Guide to Rocky Mountain Cigar Festival

Guide to Rocky Mountain Cigar Festival

The Rocky Mountain Cigar Festival is a well-organized event, a sentiment echoed by many brands in attendance. The seamless coordination is something I personally witnessed during my visit. Now in its 28th year, the festival hosted an impressive 121 vendors, a true testament to its success. Tickets range from the $80 Social level to the premium EVIP package, which offers an array of exclusive perks. These include early access at 11:00 a.m. for one-on-one time with cigar manufacturers, as well as over 60 cigars, a custom festival bag, premium accessories, VIP lounge access, and more.

Here are some tips I wish I had thought of to make the festival even more enjoyable, in case you decide to attend:

  1. Dress Comfortably It’s easy to want to wear a suit or formal attire, but the reality is that it gets hot this time of year in Colorado. A great pair of comfortable shoes and lightweight clothing will make the event much more enjoyable.

2. Sunblock With the high elevation and strong sun, it’s a good idea to bring sunblock and a hat. The sun can be intense, so protect yourself.

3. Water The event provides non-alcoholic drinks, so make sure to take advantage of this perk. Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated and avoid elevation sickness.

4. Lighter & Cutter Various vendors offer great deals on lighters and cutters. While you could probably borrow one from someone, bringing your own is always a smart idea.

5. Backpack or Drawstring Bag If you didn’t purchase one of the more expensive tickets, it’s a good idea to bring your own bag to carry the cigars and other items you collect or buy at the event.

6. Parking One of the biggest issues can be finding parking if you’re not staying at the resort. Make sure to arrive early enough to secure a spot. Many nearby hotels also offer shuttles to the event, so keep that in mind.

7. Chairs If you’re driving, consider bringing your own camping chairs. The event is sold out every year, so it can get crowded. While there are tables and chairs available, finding a seat during lunch can be challenging.

Overall, it’s a well-organized event, and while you may not need everything on this list, these tips can help make the experience even more comfortable. The festival features vendors offering great deals, so be sure to save up. You’ll have the opportunity to connect with many brands at their booths and meet others in the cigar community from all walks of life. For more information about the event, click here. If you have any suggestions to add to this list, feel free to leave a comment. I hope to see you next year!
