Review: Black Label Trading Co. Bishops Blend 2024

Stallone Alagan Review: The Experience

This cigar was pleasantly rich, decadent and complex! It took a light hit for needing a minor touch-up to even out the burn, but flavor wise I absolutely loved it. With its woody profile and citrusy zest on the retro, it made me crave a pairing of bourbon. I look forward to finding out what this is so I can pair with some or perhaps a cocktail that would go lovely with it.

I personally would suggest an Old Fashioned, Negroni, Paper Plane or Whiskey Sour for a classic approach, or for something with a bit more panache, try a Napoleon. Or neat with some Four Roses or Elijah Craig.

Stallone Alagan Review: First Third

Approaching 3/4″ in on sharp white ash stacks, I am met with notes of roasted almond and cashew creeping through a rich, earthy smoke with a mineral bite and mesquite finish on the retro. Further along the notes become more toasted crouton and buttery with bit of zippy orange citrus zest on the retro.

Stallone Alagan Review: Second Third

Buttery notes take on of a more browned butter, spiced with black pepper, sampled on a wooden spoon, profile…finishing off with a woody, cedar spice. Leaving a melted butter texture and mouthfeel on your palate with a lingering light roastiness.

Stallone Alagan Review: Final Third

Notes become more woody like that of kiln dried cedar shavings. I also get a nice flamed lemon zest, like that of a fancy cocktail. Accompanied by a finish like that of amaro and bitters.
