Brian Desind of Privada Cigar Club: “These Are Probably the Most Special Cigar Releases We’ve Ever Had”
Date: January 28th, 2024
The Limited Cigar Association (LCA) is thrilled to announce the national debut of the “Stephen” cigar, a tribute to Black History Month, crafted by the Sartorial Tobacconist, Anu Amen-Ra. Anu, with his Native American heritage from Mississippi and extensive experience from an apprenticeship in the Cuban cigar industry, brings his traditional hand-rolling skills to the forefront with this release.
The “Stephen” cigar, measuring 6×50, is named in honor of a historical figure known simply as Stephen, who revolutionized the tobacco industry nearly two centuries ago with his innovative curing method. This unique blend features a hybrid Cameroon/Habano wrapper from Nicaragua’s Condega region, complemented by American tobacco, sweet Dominican Piloto, and a special Peruvian leaf.
This release marks Anu’s first national introduction, celebrating the significant contributions of Black Americans to the cigar industry. The “Sartorial Tobacconist” offers a distinct tobacco experience with this one-of-a-kind cigar.

LCA Plus Presents: Frank Llaneza Cigar by Oliva Family
In another exciting development, the LCA Plus is proud to introduce the Frank Llaneza cigar, crafted in collaboration with the renowned Oliva Family. Frank Llaneza, a monumental figure in the premium cigar industry, has left an indelible mark through his partnership with the Oliva family in West Tampa.
This special edition emerged serendipitously when approximately 9,000 6×54 cigars, encased in elegant black five-packs, were unexpectedly delivered to the Privada Cigar Club HQ from the Oliva family. Wrapped in the highly coveted Broadleaf tobacco, these cigars represent a blend of fate and fortune.
After recognizing the exceptional quality of these cigars, we successfully negotiated with the Oliva family to retain this batch. Each bundle proudly features images of Frank Llaneza and the Oliva family, celebrating Llaneza’s lasting legacy in the cigar world.
This remarkable cigar, with the Oliva family’s finest Broadleaf wrapper and Nicaraguan binder and fillers, not only commemorates Frank Llaneza’s life but also his significant contributions to the industry.
