Luciano Cigars has announced the transformation of their Maria Lucia cigar into a full core line. Originally introduced as a tribute to the late mother of Luciano Meirelles, the Maria Lucia quickly gained immense popularity and became their best-selling single cigar. Now, after a year of overwhelming support, Luciano Cigars is excited to elevate the Maria Lucia blend into regular production, offering a range of sizes to cater to a variety of preferences.
Each meticulously rolled Maria Lucia cigar features a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper, two binders sourced from Ecuador, and a carefully curated blend of fillers from Nicaragua, the Dominican Republic, and Peru. With a medium to full strength profile, the cigar promises a harmonious balance of flavors, delivering a captivating smoking experience for enthusiasts. The project is made even more significant by the artwork adorning the boxes and bands. Luciano Meirelles’ oldesr daughter contributed a remarkable portrait of her grandmother, Maria Lucia. It is said that she created the special image – completely capturing Maria’s likeness – without ever having seen her photograph.
In celebration of the expanded Maria Lucia line, Luciano Cigars will showcase the original artwork of Maria Lucia at the upcoming Premium Cigar Association trade show in Las Vegas, emphasizing their commitment to artistry and storytelling. The company also listened to the feedback and requests from retailers and conducted an informal survey to determine the most sought-after sizes for the blend. As a result, the core line will introduce new box pressed sizes including Magnum Box Pressed, Cañonazo Box Pressed, Double Robusto Box Pressed, and Corona Gorda Box Pressed.
The production of Maria Lucia cigars will take place at Luciano Cigars’ Maria Lucia Factory, ensuring prompt availability of new orders in all four sizes immediately after the trade show. Meirelles expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to honor his mother and witness the cigar’s meaningful impact on people’s lives.
