Freud Cigar Co. has announced the first blend in a new series: Sigmund: Chapter One – The Disruptor. Crafted by legendary blender Eladio Diaz at his Tabacalera Diaz Cabrera factory in the Dominican Republic, the 7.5 x 50 Disruptor will drop next week on the birthday of the brand’s namesake – historic neurologist and psychoanalyst Sigmund Freud. If all goes as planned, The Disruptor will become an annual release, making a limited appearance on May 6th every year.
Every ticket for the launch event on May 3rd at Tobacconist of Greenwich, priced at $300 per ticket, sold out within minutes. With Diaz himself in attendance, each of the 100 attendees will enjoy a 5-course dinner, open bar, live music, raffles, and 3 cigars from the Freud lineup: Alterego, Agape, and The Disruptor. The only details about the new blend that have been made public are that there a total of 7 distinct tobaccos utilized within the blend, 5 of them being filler tobaccos. At total of 35,000 cigars were made for this year’s inaugural release. Each box will contain 10 cigars and be available for an MSRP of $430.
Eladio’s first blend for Freud – Agape – is available at Privada Cigar Club. The first cigar made by Eladio and released from Tabacalera Diaz after his departure from Davidoff – Delectados – can also be found at PCC..
