Crafted at Tabacalera A.J. Fernandez in Esteli, Nicaragua, the Diesel Disciple Lancero is being joined by two new formats – Toro and Torpedo. Initially launched in 2021 , exclusively to a select group of Tobacconists’s Association of America retailers, the 7 x 38 Disciple was released as a regular production blend in 2022. Another collaboration between iconic blender and tobacco titan A.J. Fernandez, and Justin Andrews of Scandinavian Tobacco Group, the Disciple is just one of the many popular blends brought to market as part of their value-focused Diesel concept.
Andrews explains that “we decided to launch two new sizes of Diesel Disciple this year because the blend has gotten such a strong endorsement from the retail community. They love the blend and the packaging and often tell us that Disciple smokes like a $20 cigar for half the price. We’re looking forward to rolling out the new formats and will continue to expand the line according to demand from retailers and cigar smokers.”
Featuring a Mexican San Andres wrapper, Ecuadorian Sumatra binder, and Nicaraguan Habano filler tobaccos, both new sizes will be made available in the same style 10-count boxes as the OG Lancero. The 6.25 x 52 Toro will retail for an SRP of $9.99, only a dollar more than the $8.99 Lancero, and the 6.5 x 54 Torpedo will offered for a suggested $10.49. Both new formats are expected to begin appearing on shelves and sites within the next 1-2 weeks and are being distributed by STG’s Forged Cigar Company.
