The perfect cigar to end an evening with.
Ernesto Perez-Carrillo was already making his way in the world as a Jazz musician when the entire trajectory of his life would change. His Father, who had rebuilt a life for them all after moving to Miami from Cuba, fell ill. Perez-Carrillo left his life as a professional musician and set about learning everything he could about his father’s craft to keep the operation going rather than see it sold. His original La Gloria Cubana is a huge part of the DNA of the boutique cigars we know and love today. Operating out of his very own Tabacalera Alianza factory in the Dominican Republic, Ernesto Perez-Carrillo continues to impact the way we think about cigars.

Body smells of barnyard and a deep rich dark chocolate.
Foot of the cigar has the same barnyard smell.
After cutting, the cigar has a perfect draw.
Upon light up rich chocolate earthy coffee notes and some sort of sweetness through the retrohale. Rich creamy smoke, red pepper and a blast of coffee at the tail end.
Midway point had to keep touching up because the wrapper was not burning properly. Other than that flavors continued with a deep rich coffee note lingering through the retrohale and persisting on my palate. The spice through the retrohale turned into a black pepper which made it more smooth and enjoyable. Smoke continue to be rich and creamy.
Last third of the cigar has excellent dark flavors. Black coffee, brown sugar, clove spice, earthy with a tobacco base towards the end. Still had two big burn touchups, but other than that great ending to an excellent cigar
