This is a fantastic looking cigar that had tight seams. The transition points where the ribbon of darker wrapper met the rest of the body were well rolled. The entire body was lightly veined and had a nice sheen to it. All issues I had with the burn were in the first 3rd and seemed to straighten out nicely as I smoked. I enjoyed this cigar in the early afternoon, but it would be right at home next to a cup of coffee, black or with cream.
Wrapper: Ecuador (Habano) & Mexico (San Andrés) / Binder: Indonesia / Filler: Nicaragua
Vitola: Toro / Size: 5 x 50
Factory: Fabrica de Tabacos Nica Sueño S.A. / Country of Origin: Nicaragua
Off the body I get notes of earth and leather
Earth and a light barnyard aroma.
On the cold draw I got notes of baking spices and light white pepper.
On the first third I fought with the burn a little, having to do a couple of touch ups. This cigar surprised me out of the gate with a creamy sweetness that reminded me of a Thai iced tea, Star Anise and Cardamom. It had a creamy sweetness that was very pleasant.
The transition into the second third still had the creamed tea note and added a nice nuttiness, pistachio along with nutmeg. A mild white pepper note on the retro, very smooth.
In the final third, the cigar became more earthy, but still with a sweetness reminiscent of freshly turned soil. Still very creamy despite the white pepper becoming more pronounced.
