E.P. Carillo and United Cigars have announced that the E.P. Carrillo Pledge Firecracker will be the next release of United’s annual 4th of July themed Firecracker series. The Pledge was 2020’s Cigar Aficionado Cigar of the Year. Of its transformation to United’s 3.5 x 50 format, Ernesto Perez-Carrillo shared that they had “seen the United Firecracker and their limited releases grow in the marketplace so when we first discussed the project, we all knew it would perfect.”
Just like the original, the wrapper on this diminutive treat is U.S.A. Connecticut Habano, the binder is from Ecuador, and the filler is from Nicaragua. “The wrapper draws you in immediately and once you light up you know you’re in for a ride,” explained Oliver Nivaud of United Cigars. “We are honored to work with a legend in our industry, and to have this blend represented in our Firecracker format. Let’s Light Up The Skies!”
Made at Carrillo’s Tabacalera La Alianza S.A, and limited to just 1,000 boxes, this year’s run is expected to ship to retailers in June in an effort to give enthusiasts ample time to obtain some before July 4th. The Pledge Firecracker has an MSRP of $7 per cigar and $140 for a box of 20.
