Earlier this month, a revealing image quickly began making its way around the cigar community. The phots’s unique contents? 10 Aganorsa Leaf cigars, some with eye-catching new packaging. When the sneak peek first surfaced, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Terence Reilly, described it as the new face of Aganorsa. Describing the motivation for the update, Reilly writes that “the new packaging is intended to better represent the excitement that comes from enjoying these special blends that truly highlight Aganorsa’s capabilities as a grower.” Right around the same time that they’ll be preparing to release the first round Supreme Leaf to ever be made available (February 2023), the new Signature Selection boxes will likely already be arriving at retailers who submit orders in January.
Those who are already fans of the Signature Selection need not be nervous, as the blends will remain exactly the same. Both expressions, Corojo and Shade Grown Corojo Maduro, are known for the Medio Tiempo within their core, but the wrapper on the Maduro is not what one might expect. For that, they submit proprietary Corojo 99 to extended fermentation, resulting in – among other things – a darker leaf. Also as part of the new appearance, there is now a distinct “1” and “2” included near the foot of each foil tissue wrapped cigar. Beyond that, the cigars will continue to be offered in the same vitolas at the same price, $10.50- $12.25.
