Rolled at Tabacalera Magia in Santiago, Dominican Republic, expressions from the YAYA line are now available in the United States for the first time ever. Distributed here by United Cigars, the YAYA has launched in 4 formats – 5 x 52 Robusto, 6 x 54 Toro, 6 x 60 Gordo, and 4 x 54 Short Robusto. The Short Robusto format was created exclusively for the US market. The YAYA features an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper and a binder of Dominican Cubano. For the filler, three unique Dominican tobaccos have been combined. The MSRP for these offerings ranges from $8.99 to $10.99 per single, depending on the format, and from $134.99 to $164.99 per box.
The YAYA gets its name from the very earliest memories of its creator, Carlos Guillermos. United provides further context and significance to the project by sharing that “the Yaya name has a rich history to the people of the Dominican Republic, but an even deeper meaning to Carlos and his family.” He grew up seeing his Grandmother roll cigars, and “Yaya” was her nickname. Those beatiful memories are intended to live on through each YAYA that gets made, sold, saved, shared and smoked.
*The YAYA is currently available in Robusto and Toro formats from Privada Cigar Club and can be found here.
